Guy Mushagalusa Chigoho

More than the general director and founder of the Afromuseum, Guy Mushagalusa Chigoho is a passionate gallery owner and collector of African art. For more than 25 years, he has been working in the Quebec cultural scene, primarily in Montreal. He is the source of many innovative ideas and has a knack for creating events that bring everyone together to showcase Africa’s cultural heritage. These gifts have enabled him to build cooperation networks with organizations, public and private institutions, artists, and the general public. Mushagalusa is convinced that art is a powerful means for educating people, bringing them together, and raising awareness of social issues. That’s why, in 2014, he created Espace Mushagalusa, an art gallery and space that is open to diverse voices. Since then, he has completed more than 75 projects for exhibitions, shows, literary evenings, talks, and themed workshops.
