The electrifying and sublime Lorraine Klaasen is the daughter of legendary South African Jazz singer Tandie Klaasen and is one of Nelson Mandela’s favorite artists. She is a South African music legend. She build a solid reputation for herself as a signer as well as for being an advocate of human rights in Canada and abroad.

Lorraine Klaasen moved from South Africa to Canada in 1979. Her showmanship has captivated world music, jazz and African music lovers for many years Lorraine Klaasen sings in several languages like Swahili, Lu, Xhosa, Lingala, Greek, Hebrew, and more than 12 African dialects. Her charisma, humour and expertise seduce her audience.

As a musicologist, signer and choreographer, Klaasen is a master of communicating emotions through an essential part of African music; dance. Klaasen makes rhythmic music that embraces many cultures. The signer’s exuberance and communication style spellbinds her audience.
